Foreplay is a sex act leading up to intercourse by "setting the mood". The most common types of activities associated with foreplay are caressing, kissing, massaging, cuddling, nibbling, dirty talk, undressing, provocative dancing, fondling, role-playing, sex games, and oral sex. A precursor to sex can even involve blindfolding, bondage, playful spanking, and the use of candles, drinks, soft music, suggestive clothing, scented oils, and/or a wide variety of sex toys. Creating arousal through physical and nonphysical activities can all contribute to excitement that makes way for intercourse.
